Last thing I remembered was at 1:10 p.m., and opened my eyes at 4:20 p.m. Dr. JG told P everything went well, but it took longer than expected. He spent an hour and a half on my scar. Dr. JG was surprised at how bad it was. P and I are surprised at the difference. The pain is much more than I expected. The recovery nurse informed me that the takedown is more painful than the colon resection. Interesting, and once again lucky me. SS was apprehensive pre-op, but back to her happy self now. We do realize that this is only because she missed me. We are going to have to work very hard on reassuring SS. She is now on the bed next to mine munching on ice chips.
