Swimming S

P's first time using the Ergo. He and Baby S ventured out in search of nourishment.

Guess what? I just had my first one on one outing with baba!

She ate the whole thing.

OK, let's go and see this pool thing you two seem so excited about.

During college, P worked summers as a lifeguard and swimming instructor (he also swam for his high school team). He really enjoyed teaching infants how to swim and longed for the day when he could teach his children. We have been so busy since arriving in Kunming that we have not had the opportunity to visit the indoor pool. Our hotel in Guangzhou does not have a pool, so tonight was our last opportunity to determine if Baby S is ready to be a water baby. We think she likes it.

The water was very cold, but that did not seem to faze her one bit. Her freestyle stroke is flawless.

Mom, don't freak out, but it's time for me to put my face in the water.

Here I go...

Another milestone!

Yes, I did it, lo hize! BTW, although I trust P with my life, it was very difficult to watch him place Baby S's face in the water. It all happened so fast, I was unable to snap a picture. Baby S did not cry and something tells me that she is going to be a swimmer. Not that she has much of a choice by being part of this family.

Proud of me?

That's all folks. This concludes baby S's first swimming lesson.

Hey Baby S, looks like you are a great swimmer and eater. We are going to have a BLAST swimming in your little pool! You have some fun toys waiting for you for when you get home, especially a bunch of water ones. I bet J will even eat frozen peas with you since we don’t have pea-cicles.

Hey K, you guys are soooo cute! Such a beautiful family!!! I noticed the little girl with facial features similar to S also has the ‘claw’ going on too. We love getting to see new pix. The bee wine looks rather interesting. Let us know if there is anything you need us to pick up before you get home. I am emailing you info about happenings here.

Hey P, looks like you have a little swimmer in the family. I see many swim meets in the future ☺ You guys look so happy! I am emailing K about some local news. How are you liking the local cuisine? The potatoes and bee wine looked pretty darn good. We can’t wait to see baby S when you guys are back and settled in. She seems to have a wonderful personality too!
