Sometimes all a girl needs is a Baba cuddle.

SS has been doing very well in the sleep department. We have totally given up on naps, unless she requests them, or simply falls asleep. It is not that SS does not want to nap, it is when she wants to nap. She is obviously still aiming for a career as a groupie, because 5:00 p.m. is her spot on time to want to nap. From the moment P comes home, the goal is to keep her awake until at least 7:30 p.m. We would like to stretch it until 8, but sometimes it is not worth the fight. SS has been sleeping in her crib, unless she wakes up at an ungodly hour and then we bring her into our bed. In a selfish moment P and I shared that it is good to have the bed to ourselves again (I know bad parents). She is also getting between 10-12 hours of sleep, just as she should. I am just fine with no napping, because she never really napped anyway.

SS is now consistently letting us know when it is time for bed. She asks to go upstairs or to her crib. Sometimes she does not fall asleep right away, but appears to need that down time before falling asleep. This evening it was clear to us that SS was ready for bed. She grabbed D-O-G and her Sn00py blanket. P asked her if she wanted to go upstairs and SS said no. P asked her if she was sleepy and she said yes. SS then gestured to get up on the sofa with P. The girl was out in less than five minutes. It seems that SS really needed a cuddle with Baba.

SS is now preferring the blanket I made her over the Sn00py blanket that has been her lovey. The problem once again is my lack of foresight. First, I should have made that blanket smaller. I might have to make her a smaller version. Most important, it is getting warmer here, in the summer we get temperatures in the 110s. It is becoming more frequent to find her covered in sweat when I check on her. SS never let go of her fleece Snoopy blanket, not even in the humidity hell with no air conditioner that was Puerto Rico. Her blanket is just too heavy and given her track record, we need to come up with a solution.

At least she is using Rody as a chair.

I did not think she was going to be able to get all that in her mouth.

But she did and not one single noodle fell of her fork.

Cuddling with Baba. Love the little hand under her chin.
