SS is closely watching everything.

I have always wondered how people in reality shows handle the constant presence of a camera. Almost all have shared that after a while, they do not notice the camera, something I find very difficult to believe. That is until now, when we have a tiny human camera following our every move. We do know we need to watch what we say and what we do, but that is not always the case. You do forget that the tiniest cinematographer is constantly filming, rewinding, and re-watching her work.

A few days ago, SS and I showered together, and our routine is the same. I get SS showered first, place her on the tub and go about my business. When I was done rinsing the conditioner from my hair, SS said "Here you go Mama." I opened my eyes, and she was holding my razor, then proceeded to imitate shaving my legs, while making swooshing sounds (no idea why, as I do not have a shower soundtrack).

Today, I gave SS a very long bath , just let her play and enjoy her tub crayons. I showered by myself while she played in her room. She came to my room as I was in front of the mirror, combing my hair. I usually apply anti frizz (for my fro) cream first, and it takes a while to get it through that mop of hair. One of those mindless, automatic tasks. I looked in the mirror, and next to me was SS, doing the same exact thing as I, but not just copying, it was creepy, we were in sync. The girl has been next to me for a very long time, but I did not expect her to anticipate my movements. This is how vanilla, predictable I am. I reached for my hair gel , and SS continued mimicking my movements. The thing is that I have never really noticed her doing that before. No idea where my head has been all this time.

SS and I took advantage of a break in the weather and went to a park we had not visited in a while. SS did the free range banshee bit and we drove to the store. As we were leaving the store SS excitedly said "Mama, cowboy, cowboy hat." SS has a thing for cowboy hats and once again we have no idea why. I was about to cross the street, but SS demanded that I stop the cart and pointed at the cowboy (we are really working on the pointing is not polite thing). SS yelled, "Cowboy!" I turned hopeful that the object of SS's interest was not annoyed by her antics. I saw a man of about 80, with a huge smile on his face, waving at SS. Our ham waved back and gave him the loudest YIHAAAAAAAAAAA! that has ever come out of her tiny body. The nice cowboy returned the favor with his own yihaa. We know that we have said that all we want is for our children to be healthy, happy and educated, but G0d, please do not let SS grow up to be a cowgirl. Even worse, please do not let her grow up to like country music, it will kill her father.

This morning I got out my neglected crockpot and by this afternoon we had over three quarts of marinara sauce. Some of that will be stored in tiny packets for SS's small home made pepperoni pizzas. I also made cumin bell pepper rice, fried plantains and avocado for dinner. P is scared that I will not cook for the next few months. :)

I treated SS to M&Ms, her new favorites, after she did a wonderful job of eating all her lunch. As we were about to leave, I noticed that she had left all the blue ones in the container. I took a picture, because I thought it was funny, or odd. I turned around to place the camera on the counter, then told SS it was time to go. SS was chewing like she does when she does not necessarily want something, but shoves it in her mouth anyway. Then I saw blue running out of her little mouth. I asked her if she ate all the M& Ms, and her response is below.

Blue mouth girl.

No autographs please.

The psychiatrist is in, but Dr. SS charges a heck of a lot more than five cents.

SS found a hand just her size.

Music!

P walked over to give me a hug and turned around to find himself displaced from his side of the sofa. SS even took his blanket. I don't think I will be getting another hug from P anytime soon.

O.K. I have to tell you that I am offended. Not only was I a cowgirl during most of my youth(from the ages of 13-25), I also listen almost exclusively to Country music. I turned out o.k., right?

Wait. Don't answer that.

And the blue mouth picture kinda grossed me out. :)
