It's been Mexican food all weekend.

It started with yummy steaks that were marinated 48 hours. The marinade consists of cilantro, lime juice, toasted cumin seeds and 4 jalapeños. It is not aesthetically pleasing, but the flavor is awesome. We used pre-made tortillas, but cooked at home. That way we can get the consistency just right. I treated P to home made salsa. Roma tomatoes, white onion, a jalapeño, lime juice and cilantro. The only problem is that the jalapeños were potent, and seeding 5 of those huge puppies left me with a sneezing fit. I had to leave our bed at 3:00 a.m., to allow P to get some sleep. It did not work, because of my uncontrollable sneezing. It's still going one. UGH! But my babies had yummy food and that is what matters.

We are grieving the end of summer here. No more water park, no more aquatic center. After being in water 5 days a week, SS is going to be mighty upset when she requests to go swimming. The lakes are only an option during weekends, due to P's work schedule. I might have to brave it with SS a few times to keep her happy. Still, it sucks royally, we need our chlorinated water fix.

SS looks cute even when eating.

We broke out the Halloween shirts that we got for SS last year. SS has about a dozen, and yesterday P bought her two PJs to welcome the season. Halloween tops Christmas in P's world.
